🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Cook the French Fries
-
From Scratch: Cut potatoes into thin fry shapes. Soak in cold water for 15 minutes to remove excess starch, then pat completely dry. Toss with 1 tablespoon of oil and salt. Air-fry at 400°F (205°C) or bake at 425°F (220°C) for 20 minutes, shaking halfway through, until golden and crispy.
-
From Frozen: Cook in an air fryer or oven according to the package directions.
Step 2: Sear the Steak Bites
-
Pat the steak cubes completely dry with a paper towel and season generously with salt and pepper.
-
Heat a large skillet over high heat and add the olive oil and butter.
-
Once the butter is melted and foaming, add the steak bites in a single layer. Let them sear without moving for 2 minutes to lock in a deep brown crust. Flip and cook for 1 more minute, then transfer the steak to a clean plate.
Step 3: Sauté the Bell Peppers & Create the Sauce
-
Lower the heat to medium. In the same skillet with the leftover steak juices, toss in the sliced onions and bell peppers. Sauté for 4-5 minutes until they start to soften but still have a bit of crunch.
-
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until highly fragrant.
-
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and honey. Pour the mixture directly over the vegetables and let it bubble for 1 minute to thicken.
Step 4: Toss Everything Together
-
Return the cooked steak bites and any juices from the plate back into the skillet with the peppers.
-
Toss everything together for 30 seconds to glaze the meat and veggies in the rich garlic-butter sauce, then remove from heat.
Step 5: Plate Your Meal
To perfectly match the layout in IMG_2811.JPG_3.jpeg, arrange your plate into three distinct sections:
-
Right side: A generous pile of hot, crispy fries.
-
Top left: A fresh bed of salad greens topped with cucumber slices and cherry tomatoes, drizzled with vinaigrette.
-
Bottom left: The mountain of glossy, saucy garlic butter steak bites and colorful peppers.
